In the opening test of the 3-match test series between Pakistan and New Zealand, which is being played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi in UAE. In which, the New Zealand team Outclassed the host Pakistan in a thrilling encounter by just 4 runs.
On the 4th day, Pakistan needed 139 more runs for the victory with 10 wickets in hands and one time they were dominating the chase with Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali added 82 for 4th wickets. Azhar stood tall till the end and got dismissed the last wicket for 65 runs.
This was supposed to be a foregone conclusion in a dying format, right? But what a match this was, one for the ages, one for the youtube virals and turned out to be the most thrilling match of the year.
It looked done when New Zealand collapsed for 153 in the first innings. It looked done when Pakistan was off to a flyer yesterday. It looked done when Shafiq and Azhar Ali were milking runs it around for fun at the score of 130/3.
But trust Pakistan to infuse life, even if it is at the cost of looking really stupid by losing 7 wickets for 41 runs.
