IND vs AUS: Pujara scored historic century in Melbourne, 5 big records demolished

Pujara batted in his own style and reached his century after facing 280 balls. Duting this time Pujara scored 10 fours, this is Pujara's second century of the series, before that he also scored a century in the first test in Adelaide.

1. Slowest century in Australia by an Indian batsmen:

Pujara completed his century on 280 balls, this is the third slowest century ever played by any Indian batsman in Australia, after Ravi Shastri, 307 balls and Sunil Gavaskar 286 balls. Now playing 280 balls, Pujara is at number three in this list.

2. Century in the Boxing Day Test:

Pujara becomes the fifth Indian batsman to score a century in the Boxing Day Test match played on MCG. First, this was done by Sachin Tendulkar, he scored 116 runs in 1999. After this Virender Sehwag scored 195 runs in 2003.

Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli in 2014, Kohli scored 169 and Rahane in 147 in that Test match. Now, Pujara's name has also been added to this list.

3. Most successful pair for India at No.3:

Pujara and Kohli batting pair for the third wicket has become one of the most successful pairs in the history. Both of them have added 2193 runs in 45 innings. Which includes 5 hundreds and 10 half-century partnerships.

4. Most runs in test cricket in 2018:

In the case of making the most runs in 2018, Pujara has left Jos Buttler and Karunaratne behind and has jumped to fourth place with 834 runs.

5. Most balls facad in test cricket since 2017:

Since 1 Jan 2017, Cheteshwar Pujara is the only batsman to face over 4000 balls in Test cricket! He has so far faced 4633 balls in 40 innings i.e. facing an ave of 116 balls per innings. Next best: 3796 balls in 39 innings by Virat Kohli (ave balls/inns: 97)
