IND vs AUS: India scored 303/4 runs, Pujara-Kohli created history, 7 records created on Day 1

Apart from Pujara, Mayank Agarwal also scored a magnificent inning and scored 77 runs. While, Pujara and Vihari added 75 runs partnership for the 5th wicket and remained unbeaten at the personal score, Pujara (130*) and Vihari (39*).


However, On the second day, the Indian team will be eyeing to score more than 500 before declaring, while the hosts will hard on India to restrict the scoring.

1. Fastest to complete 19000 International runs:

Virat Kohli becomes the fastest to reach 19000 runs in international cricket, he achieved this in just 399 innings and broke the previous record of Sachin (432).
It is worth mentioning that Kohli now has the world record of completing fastest 15000, 16000, 17000, 18000 and 19000 International runs.

2. Most centuries in a test series in Australia:


Pujara scored his 18th and third century of the series. Pujara, the only third batsman to score 3 centuries in a series in Australia. Before that, Virat Kohli had scored four in one series in 2014/15 and Sunil Gavaskar had scored three hundred in 1977-78.

3. Indian batsmen to play 1000+ balls in a test series against Australia:

Cheteshwar Pujara crossed the 400-run mark for the third time in the Border-Gavaskar series. Prior to this series, Pujara had scored more than 400 runs in a series in 2012-13 and 2016-17.
Cheteshwar Pujara became only the fifth batsman who has played more than 1000 balls in a series in Australia.

4. Most 400+ runs in Border-Gavaskar Trophy:

  1. 3*- Cheteshwar Pujara
  2. 3 - Sachin Tendulkar
  3. 3 - Mattew Hayden

6. Fastest to 18th Test century:

Pujara has become the 4th fastest Indian batsman to score the 18th century. He achieved this feat in 114 innings.

5. Indian team without Ashwin and Ishant:

This is the second time that both Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin are not included in the Indian Test XI. This has happened in the 2014 Southampton Test against England.

7. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul opened for India:


For the first time, two Karnataka batsmen (Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul) played the responsibility of opening the Test for India.
