1. No place in the Playing XI while playing for U19 team:

Let me tell you, Mayank was part of the India U19 Test team that played two Youth Test matches against England U19 in February 2017. In both these matches, the leg-spinner was out of playing XI and by November 20 2017, he turned 20, due to which he could not even play the U19 World Cup.

2. Mayank Went unsold in IPL Auction:

Many people will not know that in the first round of IPL 11 Auction held in January last year, no franchisee showed interest in Mayank Markande. But luckily Mumbai Indians bought him in the second round for the base price of 20 lakh.
In his first IPL season, Mayank Markande played all 14 matches for Mumbai Indians, in which he took 15 wickets with an average of 24.5 and an economy of 8.3. Due to this spectacular performance in IPL, he was selected for Indian A team and now he has got the place in Indian national team for the T20 series against Australia.
